Hunting Plains Game with a .50 cal
/AFRICA! Today on “The High Road with Keith Warren”, Matti Warren is on an airgun safari in the Eastern Cape of South Africa at Huntershill Safaris. She’ll be using a .50 cal air rifle made by Seneca called “The Dragon Claw” to go after a beautiful plains game species- The Bontebok. The Bontebok was once rare and declining in numbers, but thanks to hunters and their conservation efforts, the species is now thriving across South Africa! This animal resembles that of a blesbok, but if you look closely, you can see a difference in the shape of their horns and a difference in their coats. The Bontebok’s coat is multicolored throughout, making it one of the most beautiful and unique hides of the plains game animals. Check out this once in a lifetime spot and stalk hunt where Matti puts this airgun to the test. Airguns can shoot very far, but when hunting, you don’t want to shoot too far due to the arrows drop and lack of deep penetration at further yardage. Matti stalks up within 60 yards of a group of bontebok and is faced with the tough decision of whether she should pull the trigger or not. See just what makes this one of Matti Warren’s most challenging hunts to date!
